The table

In the beginning they are fine with their life an have become accustomed to their style of life. When their life gets flipped up side down and are left with nothing everything changes. They flee and while on the run Mahad's loses her mother and brother. After many years of waiting for them they finally make it to America and are able to get set into their new life. Now they are doing things the American way and they way that Mahad had always pictured it. This is very good because it shows how you can go from having nothing and everything taken away to having what is considered the American dream life.

Poem

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost

This poem means that by the experiences in life effects the way you see the world and how it is going to end. Basically an opinion on whats going on and how life is to you. This means to me that sometimes life treats you ways that make your mood and outlook change. The style of the poem is good and expresses a hidden message. The author doesn't come out and say what it really wants to but almost makes you interpret what he is thinking. 

Pre-Writing for Children of the River

1. I would be very caught off guard seeing how I think that no one would ever attack South Portland. I feel safe here and I am used to never having to worry about that type of stuff. I would immediately go to my parents and ask questions because I wouldn't know what was going on since I don't follow government issues. I would be in such a panic and want to hid and find the best way to be safe before they come in. I wouldn't want to leave because I love my home and it would be hard to decide what to bring and what to leave.

2. I would feel so guilty that I did not have my parents and that I left them behind. I think I would choose to stay and find my family that way I know I tried to do something. If I had to choose to leave someone behind I think would leave some of my friends and choose my family that way I can be sure I am safe and have them guiding me. If I didn't know the language or knew anyone I would feel out of place and confused.

3. My life would be changed forever, I would have to start a new life and fend for myself. I would try to blend in with everyone else and hopefully I can make a new start.  

Blog Questions, Valid Sources, and Commas

When you site a online source you have to do more then just give the URL.  You have to give the authors name and title of article, say who provided it and gave the date it was released and the date it happened.

The website that you gave us the link to was not reliable.  There were fake pictures and wrong information about the animal on the site. I had been showed this site in 8th grade and they found a way to show us that it was fake because it wasn't authorized or accepted by the government.

Research Step 1

For research so far I have looked up the sports and entertainment justice. I have looked up certain crimes that have been on the news lately and in the past. The ones I have looked at so far have affected many other people which is why I feel they are important and more relevant. I feel the project is going to be good because it is on everything that I have seen and already learned.

Research process

When I hear the word research I think of having to go online and find facts about a certain topic, and it will require a lot of online time. I don't like that there is so much information because sometimes it blocks me from beginning my essay or project, due to the amount of research I have.
 In the past I have had to do a research project on a Queen that was of some sort of importance. That was a paper that I enjoyed doing because it had a specific topic with the questions already there to be answered. So it helped knowing what to do and leaving the finding the answers to me. The negative part of that was that I didn't have a choice on what topic I got to do, it was assigned and wasn't that interesting so I couldn't really get into it. If i had the choice on the final project I would rather do a poster, because it is more creative and a better way for me to sort through my ideas.
