Pre-Writing for Children of the River

1. I would be very caught off guard seeing how I think that no one would ever attack South Portland. I feel safe here and I am used to never having to worry about that type of stuff. I would immediately go to my parents and ask questions because I wouldn't know what was going on since I don't follow government issues. I would be in such a panic and want to hid and find the best way to be safe before they come in. I wouldn't want to leave because I love my home and it would be hard to decide what to bring and what to leave.

2. I would feel so guilty that I did not have my parents and that I left them behind. I think I would choose to stay and find my family that way I know I tried to do something. If I had to choose to leave someone behind I think would leave some of my friends and choose my family that way I can be sure I am safe and have them guiding me. If I didn't know the language or knew anyone I would feel out of place and confused.

3. My life would be changed forever, I would have to start a new life and fend for myself. I would try to blend in with everyone else and hopefully I can make a new start.  

Blog Questions, Valid Sources, and Commas

When you site a online source you have to do more then just give the URL.  You have to give the authors name and title of article, say who provided it and gave the date it was released and the date it happened.

The website that you gave us the link to was not reliable.  There were fake pictures and wrong information about the animal on the site. I had been showed this site in 8th grade and they found a way to show us that it was fake because it wasn't authorized or accepted by the government.

Research Step 1

For research so far I have looked up the sports and entertainment justice. I have looked up certain crimes that have been on the news lately and in the past. The ones I have looked at so far have affected many other people which is why I feel they are important and more relevant. I feel the project is going to be good because it is on everything that I have seen and already learned.

Research process

When I hear the word research I think of having to go online and find facts about a certain topic, and it will require a lot of online time. I don't like that there is so much information because sometimes it blocks me from beginning my essay or project, due to the amount of research I have.
 In the past I have had to do a research project on a Queen that was of some sort of importance. That was a paper that I enjoyed doing because it had a specific topic with the questions already there to be answered. So it helped knowing what to do and leaving the finding the answers to me. The negative part of that was that I didn't have a choice on what topic I got to do, it was assigned and wasn't that interesting so I couldn't really get into it. If i had the choice on the final project I would rather do a poster, because it is more creative and a better way for me to sort through my ideas. 

Why I should get my license

By me getting a license is all in the interest of you guys. The reasons why I should be able to get my license is because when I have soccer or basketball practice mom won't have to leave work early or dad wont have to get off a business call and come get me. I'll be able to drive myself home with out inconvenience to you two. I know that you guys feel that by me getting a car the you are loosing me in a way but you will still have to power to take it away. This will be a bargaining chip for when you need to use it. The last reason why I feel I should have the privilege of having a license is because it will save you guys the gas money when you don't have to drag me around. Plus the gas you guys use up through out the day going to and from work.  That is why I feel you guys should allow me to go for my license.

What animal are you?

The wolf represents loyalty, perseverance, success, intuition, and spirit. The reason why I chose it was because it reflected many of my characters that I see in myself and that my friends see in me. Spirit and perseverance are the two quality's that stood out because I have the most of, I'm always energetic and love to have fun. Also I am aggressive when it comes to sports and many other things and I don't give up easily and I always try my hardest. That's why the wolf most embodies me.

New Modle

The thing that stood out to me was that unlike regular jail they focus more on getting to the issue and not just leaving you alone. Also the staff really cares about you and makes you feel like a family and that they really want you there. Family like is the type of environment that the kids feel and they don't want to mess that up because most of them don't have a stable family environment.  

Healing and Change

"Your therapist told you only about your physical healing.  That's the easy part.  Healing up there (emotional) is much harder to do."

 

The ways healing and change can take place in life is that he needs to forgive himself. For all of his mistakes and all the people he has hurt. He needs to learn to stop blaming others for his wrong doings and everything that happens and take responsibility for his actions. That is one way he can heal and change. The way you get to go through this is you need to take yourself outside of the situation and evaluate everything that is going on in life. It helps put things in perspective, and shows you different sides of the problem.
